Introducing the All-Electric BYD DOLPHIN
The BYD DOLPHIN is the first model to adopt BYD’s “Ocean Aesthetics” design identity, ensuring a unique and elegant appearance. The design is inspired by the dolphin, an intelligent, playful, and friendly marine mammal, which is reflected in the car’s shape in a metaphorical and creative manner. The DOLPHIN is available in Greece with a 60.4 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Blade Battery by BYD and benefits from a body structure exclusively designed for electric vehicles. It also features a complete range of active and passive safety features, providing it with unmatched advantages in this area.
Revolutionary Blade Battery as Standard Equipment
The BYD DOLPHIN is equipped with the groundbreaking Blade Battery, which revolutionizes safety, durability, and performance in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. This battery has successfully passed the “Nail Penetration Test,” considered the “Everest” of battery safety tests. The DOLPHIN’s Blade Batteries are free of cobalt and utilize lithium iron phosphate (LFP) as the cathode material, offering a significantly higher level of safety compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries. LFP provides excellent thermal stability. Safe and durable, the Blade Battery is uncompromising in performance, ensuring high power density along with the advantage of exceptionally low energy consumption.

The Blade Battery works in tandem with BYD’s advanced electric powertrain technology. The BYD DOLPHIN, like the BYD ATTO 3, is based on BYD’s “smart” e-Platform 3.0, designed for optimal system efficiency and vehicle intelligence. BYD’s 8-in-1 electric powertrain integrates the Vehicle Control Unit, Battery Management System, Power Distribution Unit, Drive Motor, Motor Controller, Transmission, DC-DC Converter, and Integrated Charger. This integrated technology provides a system efficiency of 89%, delivering superior performance and an enhanced driving experience.
BYD DOLPHIN Makes Electric Mobility Accessible to the Mass Market

The BYD DOLPHIN is now available in our country, in two versions—Comfort and Design—both equipped with a 60.4 kWh battery.
BYD DOLPHIN Comfort: 60.4 kWh battery and a 150 kW (204 hp) motor. Estimated range of 427 km with energy consumption of 15.9 kWh/100 km. Maximum charging power of 88 kW (from 30% to 80% in 29 minutes), and AC charging power of 11 kW.
BYD DOLPHIN Design: Identical technical specifications to the Comfort version. Additional features include a panoramic roof, tinted rear windows, two-tone body paint, and wireless smartphone charging.
Acceleration and Performance
Equipped with a 60.4 kWh Blade Battery and a modern permanent magnet motor, the BYD DOLPHIN can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds. The motor’s 310 Nm of torque and 150 kW/204 PS of power deliver seamless performance, enabling the DOLPHIN to reach a top speed of 160 km/h. Four driving profiles – Sport, Normal, Economy, and Snow – are selectable based on driving conditions and the driver’s needs.
Easy Charging and 427 km Range (WLTP)
The DOLPHIN, with its 60.4 kWh battery, offers a combined electric range (WLTP) of 427 km. The charging power from a three-phase AC supply is 11 kW. High performance is also achieved during recharging. Using a DC charger with 88 kW power, the battery can recharge from 30% to 80% in just 29 minutes. The vehicle is also equipped with V2L (Vehicle to Load) technology, allowing its battery to easily charge external devices.
Standard Heat Pump
Efficiency is a key feature of the BYD DOLPHIN. Therefore, an integrated heat pump is included as standard. The industry-first direct cooling and heating system for batteries increases thermal efficiency by up to 15% in winter. This innovative system leverages waste heat from the vehicle, the powertrain, the passenger cabin, and the battery, and can operate across a wide range of temperatures. Smart thermal management for extreme weather conditions ensures excellent driving range in low temperatures. Part of the electric management system is the braking system, which includes the CRBS regenerative braking system, capable of efficiently recovering energy during braking.
DOLPHIN: A Flexible, Multifunctional, Modern, and Welcoming Hatchback
The design of the DOLPHIN stands out from every angle, with its rounded profile and side silhouette, reminiscent of the graceful movements of a dolphin leaping from the water. On one hand, it is playful and agile, while on the other, it exudes a sense of safety and robustness.
Leveraging the characteristics of New Energy Vehicles, key design features of the BYD DOLPHIN include its short front and rear overhangs and long wheelbase, which give the vehicle an appearance that suggests spaciousness. With a length of 4,290 mm and a width of 1,770 mm, the DOLPHIN has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, optimized for roominess and comfort. The vehicle’s height is 1,570 mm.
Ergonomically Designed and Comfortable Seats
With seating for five passengers, the seats (sporting ergonomic design) and headrests are covered in eco-friendly vegan leather. The heated front seats are electrically adjustable in six directions for the driver and four for the passenger. The rear seats provide ample legroom for passengers, thanks to the adoption of the e-Platform 3.0. The support offered by the front seats for the shoulders and back has been optimized, as well as the lateral support, to embrace the body for more comfortable journeys.
Storage Design Ensures Flexibility and Practicality
The rear seats are split in a 60:40 ratio, allowing for an increase in luggage compartment capacity from 345 liters to 1,310 liters when both are folded down. The DOLPHIN features more than 20 practical and versatile storage spaces for daily trips, while the trunk can easily accommodate four standard 20-inch suitcases.
Youthful, Airy, and Refined Interior
The Design Edition of the DOLPHIN features a large panoramic roof made from high-strength, soundproofing, and thermally insulating grey double-layer glass, with a glass surface equivalent to that of a luxury D-segment vehicle. This provides passengers with exceptional outward visibility and a larger area for light entry into the cabin. The roof also includes a sunshade that covers 97% of its surface, ensuring a cool environment during warm summer days.
In the stylish interior of the BYD DOLPHIN, the dominant feature is the flowing and large curves that create the illusion of passengers being surrounded by ocean waves. The driver has direct access to controls for essential functions, while the simple and minimalist design of the dashboard delivers an innovative interactive experience. The use of physical switches takes up less space, allowing for additional storage space.
Standard Vehicle-To-Load Technology for All Lifestyles
The BYD DOLPHIN is equipped with V2L technology, capable of charging external devices with a power output of 3.3kW. As a result, the New Energy Vehicle can function as a mobile power station. This technology can be used for various activities, such as outdoor picnics and open-air movie screenings!
High-Standard Safety and Driver Assistance
The DOLPHIN comes equipped with a wide range of safety features and advanced driver assistance as standard. All models include Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Cross Traffic Brake, along with Lane Departure Prevention and Emergency Lane Keeping Assist.
The Adaptive Cruise Control and Intelligent Cruise Control enhance both driving enjoyment and safety. The system with external cameras provides the driver with a 360-degree panoramic view for safe vehicle maneuvering. Additionally, the Blind Spot Detection System, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Descent Control, Automatic Vehicle Hold, and Traffic Sign Recognition with Intelligent Speed Limit Control are included among the driver assistance features.
Five-Star Maximum Safety
The Euro NCAP organization has tested the BYD DOLPHIN and awarded it the highest rating of five stars. In fact, the DOLPHIN scored 89% in occupant protection, one of the highest in its category. Standard features include front and side airbags (front), curtain-type airbags, and a center airbag positioned between the front seats.
Dolphin-Inspired Two-Tone Color Palette Creates an Exclusive Feel
Inspired by the biological traits of dolphins, the design team has given the BYD DOLPHIN a two-tone body, with matching interior and exterior colors to evoke a sense of exclusivity. The DOLPHIN is available in seven exterior color combinations, and the two-tone design is standard in the Design version.
