The SEALION 5 DM-i is aimed at families seeking greater efficiency compared to a traditional ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) model, without compromising on space, practicality, or equipment.
The vehicle leverages the power of BYD’s proprietary technologies—from the Blade Battery and the Xiaoyun petrol engine, which form the heart of the Super Hybrid system, to NFC smartphone access and the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, allowing the car to power external electronic devices.

STRIKING DESIGN MEETS STYLE AND PRACTICITY
The SEALION 5 DM-i combines a dynamic, confident presence with smart space utilization, ensuring class-leading roominess. Its dimensions are 4,738 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, while the generous 2,712 mm wheelbase provides excellent comfort for rear passengers.
The front end stands out with vibrant lines beneath the full LED headlights, slim LED daytime running lights, and a sculpted grille and bumper that emphasize its width and robust stance. The side profile features dynamic surfaces and muscular shoulders above the wheel arches, while the contrasting D-pillar creates a “floating roof” effect. The rear design is clean, featuring a light bar that visually connects the angular full-LED taillights and a subtle integrated spoiler.
SPACIOUS CABIN WITH PRACTICAL FEATURES
The interior design of the SEALION 5 DM-i is inspired by organic natural forms, with flowing lines in the front wrapping around passengers while maintaining a sense of airiness and comfort. The dashboard integrates an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch high-resolution rotating touchscreen featuring BYD’s latest infotainment system.
The system supports “Hi BYD” voice commands, integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and offers customizable shortcuts for essential functions.
Heating and ventilation can be easily adjusted via three-finger gestures: left-right for fan speed and up-down for temperature. The system includes popular music/streaming apps and supports Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.

With a 463-liter boot capacity, the intelligently designed luggage area easily accommodates suitcases and shopping. By folding the 40:60 split rear seats, capacity increases to 1,410 liters with a flat floor, facilitating the loading of heavy or bulky items. POWERED BY SUPER HYBRID DM TECHNOLOGY
The SEALION 5 DM-i benefits from BYD’s pioneering Super Hybrid DM technology, which combines an EV driving feel with the range of a modern hybrid system.
The 1.5L Xiaoyun engine, specifically designed for Super Hybrid systems, feeds the battery and electric motor via an inverter. When extra power is required, the system can switch to parallel mode, combining the output of both the engine and the motor.
